This is our first installment on this concept that is already changing many behaviors around the world. CONSUME INTELLIGENTLY, CONSUME RESPONSIBLY

– Choose fresh foods instead of highly processed ones.

– Choose seasonal fruits and vegetables. You will get especially fresh products, and VERY cheap. Many times these products also come from the region, so they are fully ripe and without long and polluting transport journeys.

– Make sure your diet is varied and balanced, complete and sufficient, using the “Food Pyramid” to include all food groups in the correct proportion. REMEMBER Our nutritional needs change according to age, lifestyle and physical activity.

-Ensure proper handling of food at home (especially eggs, fish or frozen foods) to avoid food poisoning.

– Choose certified organic foods; they are grown without chemicals that are harmful to health or the environment, and are free of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). In addition, organic farming techniques enhance the natural fertility of the soil and the productive capacity of ecosystems, and respect the natural cycles of crops.

– Avoid food products that are, or contain, genetically modified organisms (GM). Although biotechnology offers certain benefits, consider the potential risks as well. These supposed advantages would require a certain dose and consistency in consumption that is not usually indicated. With a balanced and healthy diet, you do not need these special effects.

– Be wary of products that promise to help you lose weight, as they can even be dangerous for your health, and some promotions violate or border on the law.

– Try to quit smoking and avoid excessive alcohol.
