What we consume and how we consume it has a lot to do with the impact we have on the environment. When we shop, incorporating more sustainable habits is easier than it might seem at first.

Below we give you some ideas that are accessible to everyone and easy to implement when shopping and that will serve as a contribution to improving the quality of life.

-Check your pantry before you go shopping.

Many times when we go to the supermarket we buy products without taking into account that we already have them at home. To reduce our consumption it is important to consider what we really need and what use we can give to what we already have.

-Make a list of products: Once we have analyzed what we need, an effective option is to make a list of products so as not to buy things we had not planned.

-Consider your family's tastes and what is most consumed in your home: When making the list, it is necessary to take into account what we are actually going to use, what is most consumed in our home and what we find most useful. Let's not buy things that we know will end up filed away in a corner.

-Use your eco-friendly bag: Nowadays, many stores sell eco-friendly bags so that the next time you go shopping you can carry your products in them and not need to use plastic ones. Another option that is becoming popular again and is convenient and sustainable is the use of cloth bags.

-Choose sustainable products: That is, prefer those that were produced locally, without polluting substances and using environmentally friendly production techniques.

-Reuse and recycle: When consuming our products, it is almost always possible to recycle or reuse them and thus reduce purchases and the amount of garbage. This option is valid for food (keeping leftovers in the freezer to use when we want) and for packaging whose materials we can use on another occasion.

-Sort your waste: If what you consumed is no longer useful in your home, dispose of it as waste, but keep in mind the classification between dry and wet. Nowadays, it is possible to extend the useful life of the product or the materials that compose it.
– Many scholars have added 2 more to the 3 Rs of the environment: REFLECT AND REJECT. As consumers, we have the right to reject products that we know are very harmful and polluting, such as down, which never degrades.

– SHARE: By acquiring these habits, we will notice how easy it is to follow other habits that are also environmentally friendly. Don't forget to share with your acquaintances everything they can do to adopt a more responsible consumption. This way the effect will be better.
