We request that measures be taken to ensure that this type of act is completely prohibited in our country and that its practice is criminally punishable.
Friends, in the Ecuadorian Army there is an absurd culture applauded by many ignorant people.
Military candidates are subjected to various tests in which they are forced to make "heroic" demonstrations in order to pass, among these demonstrations is animal abuse. This is not the first time that photos of candidates with dog heads have been seen on Facebook, usually showing them as if they were trophies.
We ask for your help to collect signatures and stop all types of practices in the Ecuadorian Army that are related to animal abuse and in turn to punish those responsible for this atrocity.
BY SIGNING THE PETITION YOU WILL BE SENDING THIS LETTER RECIPIENT: RAFAEL CORREA DELGADO
Quito, April 11, 2012
Economist Rafael Correa Delgado
Constitutional President of the Republic of Ecuador
Dear Mr. President:
This is a citizen who loves her country and thanks you for the positive changes you have made in our beloved homeland. Concerned about the savage practices that are still taught in the Ecuadorian army as part of training in the military career, I ask you, on behalf of all people who love and respect animal life, to act on a law that prohibits animal abuse in the Ecuadorian Army and in turn, its non-compliance be penalized.
The straw that broke the camel's back was the appearance of photos on the Internet of a military aspirant from the GCB 32 Brigade of Azuay, in which he proudly showed how he had tortured and beheaded a dog. We cannot allow this to continue happening in our country, we are not savages.
We need to eliminate this type of custom for a better Ecuador, for real soldiers who carry the name of our country high, but not whose image tells the world that in Ecuador there are soldiers with mental illnesses, sadists and inhumane people.
So that the world knows about an Ecuador that respects life in all areas and for a Good Living for all. I wait attentively for your Ecuadorian spirit at Heart to send me a response to this request.
This is requested by a citizen who loves and respects animal life, concerned about the future soldiers who will represent each one of us.
Sincerely, Fernanda Encalada, Ecuadorian Citizen.
