The various types of pollution caused by substances and energies that do not belong to the environment marine have made the ocean the largest dumping ground in the world and has caused the extinction of thousands of species.

In this context and given the urgent need to show children in an entertaining way the reality that the sea lives on our planet, to teach them the essential principles of the importance of the ocean on Earth and to stimulate awareness of how recycling is a viable strategy for caring for the environment, "Save the Sea. The Adventures of Pulpirecicla" was born, a children's character that teaches the value of recycling and love for the ocean through the seven essential principles of ocean literacy that are covered in the book through the stories of The Great Mermaid, The Friends, The Lost Sock, The Whale Baby, The Scared Oyster, Mrs. Teapot and The Tires and Heroes aims to reach the child group of readers.

The Chilean Alejandra Planet, a journalist with studies in Hispanic Philology, is the author of the book. Alejandra has received numerous awards in various countries, and her poems and stories have been published in anthologies in Spain, Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.
