THE SILENCE OF THE FOREST

Favorite tree of the author of El Silencio forest.

I wonder as I look at the forest
What secrets does each plant hold?
What mysteries do your trees hide?
What does a little bird say when it sings?


The Forest speaks to me, when the wind
kiss the leaves of the leafy trees
that have grown with well-deserved time
until they became titans and colossi.


The Forest teaches me, with the light of spring,
everything that is contained in its rivers that spring forth like veins
from the depths of a fertile and generous soil,
with every living being that inhabits it
Whether from an ant to a bear
or the birds that invite the forest with their song.


The silence of the forest is the silence of humanity,
If you silence the tree, if you silence the bird, you will silence the human,
If you silence the forest, you silence humanity,
coming to the end of a species that in its life,
he didn't know how to listen.
