In order to strengthen the public safety of those who will visit the different beaches during this holiday season, we share with you some ideas to make our visit happy and safe:

1. Every time you decide to visit seaside resorts, look in the press or call the Harbor Master's Offices corresponding to your destination, to take into account the calendar of floods or other useful information to preserve life at sea.

2. IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO SWIM, DO NOT ENTER THE SEA, stay on the shore and enjoy the sun.

3. If you know of the existence of waterlogging, observe the precautions posted by the lifeguards (red flag) in the surveillance booths. If there is a red flag, do not enter the sea.

4. Watercraft (jet skis, boats, banana boats, etc.) must be driven outside the line of buoys, NOT in the bathing area, and when you need to embark or disembark, do so in a straight line and slowly. ALWAYS require a life jacket.

5. Do not attempt to swim beyond the safety buoys for swimmers.

6. If you are in charge of minors, make sure they always use lifebuoys when entering the sea. DO NOT FALL ASLEEP on the beach, remember that they are your responsibility and that they have no real notion of the danger.

7. NEVER GO ALONE FROM THE SHORE. To enjoy the sea safely, it is recommended to go in as far as the water reaches your waist. If you want to practice for a long time or show that you can swim, do so parallel to the shore, but never out to sea. You don't know if you might be surprised by a cramp, a whirlpool, tiredness or an irresponsible boat. DROWNINGS ARE NOT THE RESULT OF BAD LUCK, BUT OF IMPRUDENCE.

8. Do not enter the sea under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

9. Share this note with family and friends who will visit the beaches of our blue coast.

Please note that in the Province of Santa Elena, the beaches of Mar Bravo, Diablica and Punta Carnero have been classified by the Secretariat of Risk Management as highly dangerous due to the strong currents that are occurring there this season. Please take special care if you visit them.
