Drinkiq.com is the first global digital platform that promotes responsible alcohol consumption using tools such as access to information, programs and other resources.
The website is promoted by Diageo, which is supporting efforts to combat alcohol abuse.
"DrinkIQ is a platform that offers tools and accurate information to prevent abusive and harmful consumption. Alcoholic beverages have accompanied man since the dawn of time and every day there are consumers who delight in their enjoyment and celebration," said Eduardo Vázquez, senior official at Diageo in South America.
The name of the website, available in 14 languages, is based on two English words: drink and IQ.
DrinkIQ offers information about alcohol and its effect on our bodies, as well as videos from experts around the world answering frequently asked questions. An extensive library of materials from the company, NGOs, government, educational institutions and others is also available, giving visitors the opportunity to share and learn from a range of programmes that can be adapted and reused.
Users can also interact with the rest of the online community through their Responsibility Channel, where videos and materials created and uploaded by visitors are available.
Another resource is a comprehensive list of links to organizations and government agencies to learn more about responsible drinking.
