BY PUTTING THESE SUGGESTIONS INTO PRACTICE, WE WILL OPTIMIZE ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN OUR HOMES

REFRIGERATORS OR FREEZERS

  • Check that the door closes properly. If the gasket fails, replace it.
  • Try to open it only when necessary and for the shortest possible time. Opening and closing the door many times is synonymous with waste.
  • Place it away from heat sources. Leaving a minimum of 15cm of space between it and the walls.
  • Defrost it regularly. Overconsumption begins when the ice box reaches a thickness of 5mm.
  • Cool foods completely before placing them in the refrigerator.

TELEVISIONS AND MUSIC EQUIPMENT

  • Do not leave televisions, DVDs, video games and sound equipment on unnecessarily if you are not using them.

LIGHTNING

  • Paint the interior walls and ceilings of your house in light colors, so you can use lower-wattage lamps to illuminate the rooms.
  • Control external lighting with photocells.
  • Avoid leaving the lights on if you are not using them.
  • Use lamps suitable for lighting each type of environment.
  • Use energy-saving light bulbs instead of incandescent light.

AIR-CONDITIONING

  • Avoid leaving doors and windows open if you are using air conditioning in any area of your home.
  • Clean the filters regularly.

IRON

  • Adjust the thermostat of your iron according to the fabric to be ironed.
  • Use it as soon as you plug it in. Unplug it before you finish, you will use the heat until the end.
  • Never leave your iron plugged in, as in addition to wasting energy, you will be putting your safety at risk.
  • Gather a certain amount of clothes to iron, so there will be no waste of energy when turning your iron on and off.

WASHING MACHINE

  • Wash at the maximum capacity recommended by the manufacturer. Do not exceed the maximum capacity stated.
  • To wash a small amount of laundry, set the selector to economy.
  • Use the correct amount of detergent so you don't have to rinse more than once.

REMEMBER TO KEEP ALL APPLIANCES DISCONNECTED WHEN NOT IN USE. EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT IN USE, WE ARE STILL CONSUMING.
