With immense gratitude and profound joy, we extend this invitation to participate in the Traditional A'i Kofán Yagé Ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, September 21 at Rapaka Kuanu, Center for the Study of Ancestral Knowledge, in Lomas de Sargentillo, Guayas, starting at 8:00 p.m.

 

Why participate in this experience?

We are honored by the presence of Taita Mayor Isidro Lucitante, a guardian of the ancestral wisdom of the A'i Cofán people. From the depths of the northern Amazon, in the 'Avie Cofán' community, Taita Isidro arrives to share a ceremony that transcends the earthly. His sacred icaros and his guide connect with a thousand-year-old tradition that has been safeguarded for generations, dating back to his grandfather, the legendary Curaca Elías Lucitante.

Get ready:

 
Medication: Check with the organizers if you are taking medication, especially anti-anxiety or psychiatric medications.
 
Diet: Three days before, avoid red meat, dairy, processed foods, spicy foods, alcohol and other substances. Opt for fresh foods.
 
Hydration: Stay well hydrated with water or natural non-citrus juices.
Respect and Purpose: Approach with respect and clear purpose.
 
Women in their menstrual cycle: It is preferable to wait for a next ceremony.
 
What you should bring:
Mattress or sleeping pad
Comfortable clothes.
Flashlight and a change of clothes
Candles and something to share at dawn (fruit, bread, etc.)
Water in thermos
