Un estudio internacional publicado en el \u00faltimo n\u00famero de la revista Science concluye que, a lo largo de los \u00faltimos 300 millones de a\u00f1os, la qu\u00edmica oce\u00e1nica ha sufrido profundos cambios, aunque ninguno de ellos parece haber sido a la vez tan r\u00e1pido, de tanta magnitud y tan global como el que est\u00e1 ocurriendo en la actualidad.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: &quot;georgia&quot; , &quot;times new roman&quot; , serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;georgia&quot; , &quot;times new roman&quot; , serif;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;georgia&quot; , &quot;times new roman&quot; , serif;\">La acidificaci\u00f3n marina ocurre a medida que el CO2 emitido por las actividades humanas, derivado principalmente por la quema de combustibles f\u00f3siles, se disuelve en los oc\u00e9anos. Durante este evento tuvieron lugar grandes extinciones, sobretodo de faunas bent\u00f3nicas. No obstante, todas estas extinciones tambi\u00e9n fueron asociadas a disminuciones en el contenido de ox\u00edgeno de los oc\u00e9anos y a grandes calentamientos.
