Dulces de Benito in the La Entrada commune (Spondylus route), with a wide variety of pies, cheesecakes, cakes and sweets of other varieties, has become a destination for those who enjoy good desserts and an example of personal development for the community.
Pamela Pincay, Benito's sister, was the one who welcomed us and told us about the beginnings of this business, which is today almost a must-see stop and there are even several tourists who come to La Entrada driven only to taste these delicacies.
"My brother worked in several hotels, where he learned the best of each one and then put them into practice to develop his own business," he said.
Dulces de Benito continues to grow after more than 12 years since its beginnings. They recently opened another location in Puerto López, in addition to franchises in La Libertad, Salinas and Guayaquil.
According to Pamela, the strawberry cheesecake and the passion fruit pie are what made them famous and what catapulted them to fame. She added, smiling, "Everyone says they are delicious."
Lemon, passion fruit, walnut, almond, peach, naranjilla, pear and apple pies; strawberry, chocolate, oregano and guava cheesecakes; chocolate cakes, three milks, chantilly and coconut bienmesabe, as well as other varieties of sweets such as tiramisu, tarts, chocolate nougat, coconut cheese and negrito, are ready to continue sweetening the palates of those who visit the La Entrada commune.
