The Sisa Ñampi (Path of flowers)

The Sisa Ñampi will represent a perimeter of flowering trees, a sacred space. It will be a living path to express the thoughts of the Amazonian peoples about the jungle, where the life of the people begins and is shaped. It will be the path to transmit knowledge of botany, animals, water, the Runayuk (beings of the jungle), and worldview. It will be a long journey where a child will begin his life, just like the tree planted in space, towards their adult lives.

In its physical context, this project consists of constructing a geographical demarcation on the ancestral boundaries of the territories of the Amazonian indigenous peoples of Pastaza.

The spaces of the Border of Life will be circular areas of ± 2000 m², planted every 4 km on the borders of the territories of the peoples in resistance and in agreement with this project.

The spaces are planned in the form of a chakra as a centre of biodiversity where, after a careful selection,
They will plant food plants and flower and fruit trees.

This proposal represents a work of at least 20 years. At its peak, it will be a testimony to the beauty of the Amazon, with a blanket of colors visible from the air, to beautify Pachamama and protect the territorial space.

Trees such as Julunchi, Waranka, Ruya lychee, Chuku, Punpuchi, Kupa, Muriti will be planted, which are linked to the masters and owners of the jungle, with animals such as the jaguar, the anaconda, lizards. These also communicate with the mountains, lagoons, waterfalls, caves and burrows, which constitute the sacred jungle for the Kichwa.

The spaces or rings will be declared living and sacred spaces. As a zone where the supreme beings of the jungle, Amazanka, Sacharuna, Yashinku, Jurijuri are present, they are the abodes of these Supay, the giant trees and the flower trees. They will be zones conceived as the maximum point of existence of the Amazonian people and sanctuaries that cannot be moved.

Each circle of the Border of Life will materialize and symbolize the living and sacred meaning of the land. They will be baptized with names of the Apu of the jungle and will affirm the living value of these
areas, perpetuating the memory of the ancestors and declared as Kawsak Sacha, Runayuk Sacha (jungle of beings).

The Border of Life will represent the emblem of conservation and preservation of natural resources and respect for the ancestral peoples who occupy these territories. It will be the symbol of the permanence of the existence of life, in each and every one of its manifestations. A space of life with a human face. It will be proof of the presence of men and women from another reality and culture, with an invaluable wealth, a mega biodiversity with mysteries and sacred spaces. It will be the symbol of the peaceful resistance of the indigenous peoples of the Amazon to ensure and strengthen their existence in the country and in the world.

Border of Life will be a message addressed to the entire world, which will try to reactivate consciousness and touch the thoughts of the human being.
human, in their ethical, moral, philosophical values, with a profile
multicultural. Its purpose is to draw the attention of national and international public opinion, to inform and disseminate information about the accelerated destruction of tropical forests, the concerns of the Amazonian peoples and their proposals for the protection and conservation of their territories and their culture.

It will raise awareness and reflection on the serious economic and environmental crisis that the world is currently experiencing. Far from excluding the indigenous peoples of the Amazon from global reality, the aim will be to strengthen planetary unity.

Finding mechanisms to resolve the successive demands of indigenous peoples, as well as making the voice of these nationalities heard at the local, national and international levels. Beyond the so-called international dimension, it is about creating a platform for dialogue and exchange of solidarity between the peoples of the world.

This alternative environmental proposal will be a political and ecological response by indigenous peoples to extractive projects.
of the Ecuadorian state. The Border of Life will be and implement new forms of management and administration of the territory, to establish a sustainable economy, respecting the balance of existing ecosystems, reserves and sacred areas.

The border of life a plan for Sumak Kawsay.

Having an economic and development model that no longer depends on the sacrifice of nature, the destruction of biodiversity and the suffering of peoples and nationalities is the desire and objective of the indigenous peoples and nationalities of the Amazon in Ecuador.

Demonstrate a new model of progress founded on true
“Sumak kawsay”, life in harmony, is an urgent and concrete proposal presented by the people of Sarayaku to change the development model of extraction and sale of fossil energy to a harmonious development that respects life and the well-being of nature, the planet and human beings.

The “Sumak Kawsay” Life Plan, which the Sarayaku people have been managing in their territory and the Bobonaza River basin, is understood from the logic of excluding extraction projects that affect the ecosystem, implementing sustainable actions for the use and exploitation of resources, through zoning and appropriate and respectful uses of natural resources; strengthening the institutional organization of the peoples.

For the inhabitants of Sarayaku and the Bobonaza River basin, Sumak Kawsay means having a healthy territory free of contamination, a productive land with abundant natural resources that ensures food sovereignty. It means having their own, sustainable and free organizational system, in harmony with the development concepts of the Kichwa people of Sarayaku.

Sumak kawsay is also knowing and practicing our ancestral knowledge, maintaining the practices of our traditional customs and strengthening our own identity.
The objective of the plan is to implement its own development model to improve the quality of life of the Kichwa people of Sarayaku, through plans for the sustainable management of natural resources of flora and fauna, as well as taking advantage of its cultural, scientific, technological and artistic potential, through the execution of alternative programs and projects that are ecologically sustainable, economically profitable and culturally compatible with indigenous philosophy.

Through the Frontier of Life, Sarayaku will implement sustained actions, projects and proposals of its Plan, interrelated, to support and strengthen its ancestral knowledge of Sacha Runa Yachay (knowledge of the men of the jungle), develop Runakuna Kawsay (life of the men of the jungle) in peace and freedom and ensure Sumak Allpa (fertile land without evil) to achieve Sumak Kawsay (life in harmony).
