Detail of the engraving “Language of the Gods” by the artist Roberto Carrión |
Around 15 relief engravings by the artist Roberto Carrión (Guayaquil, 1966) will be exhibited this Thursday at Casa Cultura Spiral in a free event that will also include musical participation by Ernesto Cevallos.
The artistic evening will begin at 7 p.m. and admission is free for those who wish to learn more about the work of Carrión, an artist and cultural manager with accumulated experience in personal and collective exhibitions dating back to 1992 when he presented his work “Rescatemos el Museo Municipal de Guayaquil.”
Engravings are artistic disciplines that use different techniques of impression, which have in common the drawing of an image on a rigid surface, called a matrix, leaving a mark that will later hold ink and be transferred by pressure to another surface such as paper or fabric, allowing for several reproductions of the print. Depending on the technique used, the matrix can be made of metal (traditionally copper or zinc), wood, linoleum or stone.Wikipedia).
