Since mid-November of this year 2012, The General Directorate of Maritime Interests (DIGEIM) implemented and made available to all citizens its Virtual Library, where all academic information generated by this General Directorate related to Maritime Awareness issues and any other component of National Maritime Interests will be stored.
The conferences and documents generated during the "First Ecuadorian Congress on Maritime Awareness" that took place last September and the Regional Seminar on "Risk Management in Coastal Zones" are the first components of the Virtual Library.
