The Surf Route is part of the attractions of the Spondylus Route, and extends from the Playas canton, in the province of Guayas; passing through the provinces of Santa Elena and Manabí until reaching the Atacames canton, in the province of Esmeraldas.

It covers more than 560 kilometers of beaches, as well as specific surf spots on the islands of San Cristóbal, Isabela and Santa Cruz in the province of Galapagos.

Traditionally, the coastal profile had been until now a place where mainly spas (sun and beach tourism), gastronomy and protected areas stood out. Now, with the focus on adventure tourism, you can travel the entire coast harmonizing nature, culture and sport in the product called Ruta del Surf.

Now, on the threshold of the season, we begin with this installment of the more than 15 surf spots that our beloved province of Santa Elena offers for all lovers of this sport. In each installment we will show: the name of the destination, swell, category, wave direction, best months, wave size, facilities, nearby attractions, emergency phone number and additional tourist information.
