The Eco-Tourism River Transport project for Santay Island, Duran and Samanes Park was sent to the President of the Republic, Dr. Rafael Correa Delgado, who has ordered that the Ministers of Tourism and Environment analyze it and give a response. We will be waiting for this information.
We would like to remind you that this project involves the construction and commissioning of an electro-solar boat built in Guayaquil with Swiss advice. The boat is ecologically suitable and meets all the conditions to navigate in Protected Areas such as Santay Island, Samanes Park and of course the Guayas River (which is part of the Santay Wetland).
This boat has the characteristic of being propelled by electric motors and its power system is electro solar, that is, solar panels whose energy goes directly to the motors or is accumulated in batteries that, in the absence of sun, deliver their energy to the propulsion of the boat.
Due to the Protected Area characteristic of Santay Island and to preserve the water quality of the Guayas River, this ship does not pollute, does not make noise or produce vibrations or bad odors and the most important thing of all this is that by not using fossil fuels, in the 25 years that its useful life will last, it will avoid emitting 1,372 tons of CO2.
