ACCOUNT OF THE FASCIST AFTERNOON OF APRIL 17, 2014 (ECUADOR)

BACKGROUND

On Saturday, April 12, 2014, 3,000 people from different parts of Ecuador, supported by thousands more from different parts of the world, delivered almost 750,000 signatures to the CNE to proceed with the Popular Consultation of the Yasuní ITT, with the question of Yasunidos, about leaving the ITT crude oil underground indefinitely.

On April 16, 2014, Yasunidos was able to verify irregularities in the process. The box containing the copies of identity cards was opened without their presence. Behind their backs, the CNE took out the copies of identity cards of people who had collected between 1,000 and 15,000 signatures, and they drew up a list as long as their lies, of people whose signatures we had collected and whose copies of identity cards were not in the box. What an insult to the intelligence of the 14 million Ecuadorians that the enabling documentation of, for example, Esperanza Martínez, a brave woman who has been fighting for the jungle for 20 years, or that of Yasunida Antonella who collected 15 thousand signatures, do not appear in the box and then, after a few hours, appear inside the hat of the Magician Domiguín.
In view of the absurdity, reported in a Yasunida press conference yesterday afternoon, the CNE realized that this strategy would not serve to obey Correa's orders not to validate the signatures and not to proceed with the Popular Consultation; and therefore changed its strategy from "there are no copies of the ballots" to "we removed them from the CNE by brute force"... And so it was.

April 17, 2014

Since early in the morning, several Yasunidos were inside the CNE requesting an audience to clarify the irregularities of the process. At around 10:30 in the morning, there were 10 people guarding the doors so that the signatures would not be taken out of that room.

From 1:00 p.m. on, the “special forces?”… no, brutal ones, kept arriving. By 3:00 p.m., there were 4 trucks full of soldiers, about 100 of them; another 100 special forces police officers, plus 50 security police officers and 50 municipal police officers with 10 motorcycles. Undercover agents with video and photo cameras everywhere; each one had a firearm and a baton = 300 weapons and 300 batons. One of the trucks had “ARMS CONTROL” written on its side.

At around 3:00 p.m., there were about 120 of us spread out at the two main doors of the CNE. Men and women of various ages sat against the entrances, like a human wall, guarding the signatures. We assume that the “weapons” they needed to control, since they outnumbered us three times as many people, were the extremely dangerous colored balloons, the lethal signs with words as deadly as “Carajo!”, the exterminating drums, the terrifying voices chanting slogans, the indomitable resistant and fighting bodies, the unmentionable bicycles and the cruel photo/video cameras. These “childish environmentalists,” “terrorists,” “destabilisers” and “traitors” did not stop singing “They are afraid of us because we are not afraid, they are afraid of us because we are not afraid”…

At 3:30 p.m. the order came to forcefully separate the human cordon, and thus the fascist afternoon of April 17, 2014, reached its climax. With my senses I perceived that a few meters away from me, at least 20 men and women were kicked, beaten, pushed, dragged on the pavement, brutally pulled off their bicycles and sprayed with pepper spray. When they had them outside the gate of the CNE parking lot, two large white trucks entered. Five minutes later a cordon of at least 100 police officers loaded the boxes containing the 750,000 signatures into the buckets of two cars and took them away, supposedly to Bicentennial Park, a rumor that stinks of smokescreen to me… Only he who thinks he is a god (read Correa) knows his fate.

Fascist, dictatorial, violent and repressive, the order to seize the signatures in this way, because there was no media camera to intimidate them, there was no heart-rending cry to make them back off. The slogan “People against people, that is not government” did not even tickle them; nor did they get ruffled when they were loudly reminded that we were forbidden to forget the inhuman abuses of August 27, 2013. As always, it was worthless to them… CAR-PE-TA!!!… There were even shots in the air, these ears that will turn to earth heard 5 shots in the air in 30 seconds = FASCISM, DICTATORSHIP, FEBRESCORREÍSMO.

WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN?

Yasunidos has prepared a request for precautionary measures, which can be downloaded from social media. Fill it out with your personal information and take it before any judge at the national level so that the crime against humanity that is being committed against the Yasuní ITT and against human rights is brought to light. The more people who ask for these measures from more judges, the more we will show this ignominy. When you have the document, you must send it scanned to the Yasunidos. This will happen immediately.
In the long and eternal term of the rest of Ecuador's history, the only positive circumstance that this genocide and ecocide has is that the new and brand new generations will never forgive the "Citizen Revolution", Rafael Correa, Alianza País Listas 35, for allowing the extinction of all living things in the last biosphere reserve on the planet; and therefore they will never give them a single vote in their exemplary lives.

SHAME

It is a shame to the world that the Ecuadorian government claims to be revolutionary and feminist and represses in a fascist and violent manner.
Shame on Domingo Paredes' public life, who having been a member of the communist ranks of this country, today acts as the most vile war criminal.
It is a shame that, despite the existence of a Constitution of the Republic that guarantees the intangible rights of the territories of peoples in voluntary isolation and that guarantees the possibility of a Popular Consultation, today they want to trample on its existence by putting forward the argument that the signatures are not on the correct form, when saying YES to the question of Yasunidos means the difference between life and death.
It is shameful that the three days that Amazonian women walked to Quito to defend their forest are now being replaced by Correa's farce when he says that the signatures are false and that the signature collectors do not exist. Just as lying and hate-mongering is the news broadcast by Gama TV in its midday newscast that perversely suggested that the Yasunidos had been preventing the signature counting process within the CNE by using violence.

"AND WHAT IS THE ALLIANCE COUNTRY GOVERNMENT? A CARTOON OF A REVOLUTION,
CARTOON OF REVOLUTION, IT IS THE GOVERNMENT OF ALLIANCE COUNTRY”…we will sing it for all eternity, 35 million times.
